While I’m here…

I was on a roll and decided to sub two more designs.

Right now the plan is to sub my old woot designs that are mildly appropriate for the Threadless crowd, and go from there. Even just testing the waters with the designs I’ve submitted has given me good ideas for revamping those pieces.

Oops. Forgot to post these before voting closed. It’s been a really long week, of which the moral of the story was to never, ever volunteer to collaborate with students ever again - especially female students. Lol… Anyway! Two entries and a spinoff this week.

The spinoff was subbed on request and actually scored higher than the original. Apparently the invisible penguin was a winner.

Two new designs up for voting at Threadless! Trying to test the waters to get my creative juices going. Woot voters like to drain them all.

It’s done! I’ve finished the revamp and I’m pretty pleased. It’s more conventional regarding layout and organization - perhaps less conventional in regards to images and colors. Regardless, I designed this one with my typical internet rounds in mind. Later I’ll probably add a more professional portfolio site that will have less goats and less vicious cannibalistic eggs. In the meantime, this will be just fine.

The only page that’s without content is the music page, which will be updated later. Still working on a flash mp3 player, or some other more interesting means of playing files. If I don’t get it worked out soon, I’ll at least post a few covers.

Ultimately I believe this version will be way easier to update because there’s just less updating to do. The three image events will only be updated for every major event or news or group of changes. The blog feed covers the rest of the updates. The select art and design pieces will only change when my Top 10 picks change, or when I decide to update it to Top 15. Both my art and design DA accounts will handle all of the regular updates. All in all, WAY BETTER.

Please let me know what you think! I won’t be able to reevaluate it cold-turkey for awhile, so if I’ve botched any color schemes, image links, or bugs let me know.

Next Project: Shirt Storm

It’s finally up. Only one shirt available at the moment, but I will print older designs on request (unless I have other plans for them). I have not received my first print from mySoti yet, but I will fill you in on the quality when it arrives. If you’re brave and don’t want to wait, order a shirt and we’ll have a race to see who gets theirs first.

Hah! There’s nothing quite as awesome like curbing a bad client. It’s so liberating. The sea suddenly parts, and the whole friggin world is better. While the closest I get to regret is the moderately bummed feeling about the fact that I didn’t stay until I managed to magically improve the situation, it isn’t even on the radar in comparison to the “HELL YEAH!” satisfaction I get from not having to waste my time on said client. I even did three derby entries this week. ZOMG THREE.

My favorite is the deer and I will definitely work it up for a sub at another site. The violent snowman entry just had to be done.

I’ve finally finished uploading my designs to the new DA account. Took forever!

Next step: mySoti

So close to being finished with it. I would wager that I have a few days left of tweaking it before the final upload. It’s much more generic, though much easier to navigate than the current design.

Nothing like a little programming snafu to make you feel like a big fat failure.

Nothing too exciting this week.  It’s a really broad topic and I would say you could get almost anything to be applicable.  Fairly generic looking fog, but I am rooting for the turtles.
