The theme “individuality” could not be more wrong for the woot derby. As the weeks go by it has become more and more of a target market exercise instead of a design contest. Not that there’s anything wrong with this. These cutesy animal shirts are more fun than the shirts sold at Baby Gap, Babies R Us, or any number of baby, toddlers, or children’s retailers. I know if I was a youngin, this trend would totally rock. It beats the traditional girly wardrobe I had as a kid. Not that I don’t appreciate the cute now, but being pigeon-holed into designing the same cute every week gets old. If anything I suppose it’s a challenge, like designing for an employer or client you don’t particularly like. That’s okay! Challenges are good.

Did you have some variation of the rabbits in an earlier Derby? I’m going to be getting one of those shirts, but I can’t help but feel like I’ve seen it before.

I just have to say, I love my cannibal bunnay shirt, I am absolutely in love with it. I got lots of compliments on it when I went to the pet store yesterday to buy food for my snakes. There are few people who appreciate the humor, but I do.
Yay for meat!

One of my co-workers bought the bunny one… she’s going to wear it when she goes for her wildlife rescue training, it’ll be awesome.

@ darkblade: I know! Me too. Perhaps it will get a shot in the do over derby.
@ Alan: I don’t believe I did. Hope you like the shirt!
@ Jess: Thank you! …and yay meat!
@ Illuminator: Hah. That will definitely be awesome. Now she just needs to find a bunny sitting next to a carcass for possibly the best photo ever.
